Pre-Treatment Instructions
3–7 Days Before
- Avoid blood thinners such as fish oil, vitamin E, garlic and ginkgo.
- Avoid alcohol.
- Avoid NSAIDs unless approved by your physician.
Day of Appointment
- Tell your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, or have any new medical conditions.
- Arrive with clean skin.
Post-Treatment Instructions
First 24–72 Hours
- Avoid touching, massaging or applying pressure to the treated area.
- Avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise and excessive heat.
- Use cold compresses intermittently.
- Sleep elevated.
- You may take acetaminophen (Tylenol) if needed.
Results & Expectations
- Swelling
- Peaks at 24–72 hours and improves over 1–2 weeks.
- Firmness
- Firmness or lumps soften over 2–6 weeks.
- Results
- Initial improvement appears in 3–4 weeks; final results are assessed 4–6 weeks after each session.
- Multiple sessions may be required.
